How exactly do they intend for the government to PAY for this subsidy? hmmmm.
And, while we're at it, all the other subsidies have been run so well (Post Office, Social Security, Medicare/caid) that I know the Government will do an awesome job taking care of my children for me.
I think Russia has this plan where they take ALL your income and everything you own belongs to the government. And they take care of everything for you. Maybe they should move there...
You need to read it *more* slowly. What this person is saying is that daycare is a right, because not everyone (even those in dual income families) can afford the exorbitant costs of daycare.
I stand corrected. Let's take this further. It's "not fair" that people can't afford daycare -- so the government should pay for it. It's "not fair" that people can't afford to drive new cars -- so the government should pay for that. It's "not fair" that people can't afford to live in houses -- so the government should take care of them.
